  • Padma Vibhushan is the second  highest civilian award
  • The award is given for exceptional and distinguished services in any field including Government service rendered by government Servants.

3. Padma Bhushan

  • The Padma Bhushan is the third highest civilian award of India.
  • The award is given for distinguished services of a high order in any field including Government service rendered by government Servants.

4. Padma Shri

  • The Padma Shri is the fourth highest honour after the Bharat Ratna civilian award.
  • The award is given for distinguished services of a high order in any field including Government service rendered by government Servants.

 5. Dadasaheb Phalke Award

  • The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India’s highest award in Films /cinema.
  • It is presented annually at the National Film Awards ceremony by the Directorate of Film Festivals, an organization set up by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

 6. Jnanpith Award

  • The award was instituted in 1961.
  • It is an annual award given for distinguished works in any recognized language by a scholar.
  • First Indian to get Jnanpith Award G. Shankar Kurup.
  • First Woman to get Jnanpith Award  Ashapurna Devi.

 7. Saraswati Samman

  • The award was instituted in 1991 by the K. K. Birla Foundation.
  • It is an annual award given for outstanding prose or poetry literary works in any 22 Indian languages.

 8. Vachaspati Samman

  • The award was instituted in 1992.

 9. Shankar Award

  • Indian Philosophy, Culture and Art

10.Vyasa Samman

  • Instituted in 1992 by the K.K. Birla Foundation
  • For outstanding contribution to Hindi literature.

 11. Kabir Samman

  • Socio – communal Harmony

 12. Dronacharya Award

  • Instituted in 1985
  • Given by Sports Ministry, Government of India.
  • These are given to sports coaches.

 13 Arjuna Award

  • These are given for the special achievements in different types of sports.
  • Given by Sports Ministry, Government of India.
  1. Kalinga Award
  • The Kalinga Prize for the Popularization of Science is an award given by UNESCO for exceptional skill in presenting scientific ideas to lay people.
  • Instituted in 1952

 

 15. Gallantry Awards-

Param Vir Chakra (PVC), Ashok Chakra,  and Shaurya Chakra    is given for appreciating the brave and gallant.

  • Param Vir Chakra- It is India’s highest award for bravery.
  • Mahavir Chakra- It is the second highest gallantry award.
  • Vir Chakra- It is the third highest gallantry award.

First Person to get Paramvir Chakra : Major Somnath Sharma

  • Ashok Chakra-It is the highest peace-time gallantry award

First Woman to get Ashok Chakra: Nirja Bhanot
